Ben van Wetten on Love and Peace
We speak love to our children, our life partners, siblings, parents, etc. What do words of love mean when we use them thoughtlessly? Words, let the individual believe they are important to us. Of course, how you say; "love you, bye", conveys its own message. It gives the message either power or a dull and meaningless puff of air.
In his book; "Time and Space" by Richard Dotts,  I realized that the Universe IS indeed responding instantaneously to all our feelings, thoughts, intentions and desires! It responds through our feelings! The Universe responds unfailingly and is about manifestation, of love, of peace and the Universe connection.  The Universe he writes about is our body. Each one of us is not just a mini Universe, we are also part of the whole. We are ruled by the laws of attraction, it is the law.
My friend John, is very good at manifesting and getting his needs met right away. He crashed his car and right away puts his need for a car into the universe; "a car, in about the same  condition as the current one will do nicely, thank you". By using the laws of attraction and being specific about his needs, he got a car that met his needs that same afternoon.
Richard Dotts, says in his book; "the Universe answers instantly". Although I was skeptical about it, I read on. His explanation is simple enough, anyone can understand it. Think about love internally and let it roll around in your mind, until you feel that warm glow well up inside of you. Think of the word "peace" and instantly feel peace manifesting inside of you. It's not the same as the "love" warmth, but very similar. Instant manifestation of your love and peace emotions.
So, why do we not just accept that this is how manifesting works? The answer is just as simple, it's peoples lack of faith in the process. So we do not work at it. Instead we pray to God and have a 'To DO' list we then
put in front of Him, and wonder why we are not getting our prayers answered. Well, God expects us to do our bit as well.
So get practicing on two universe moving understandings, LOVE and PEACE and feel the warmth within you.

Oak Training : Personal Profiler

Ben van Wetten - Personal Profiler.

When John Usher first spoke to me about the The OAK Training Pesonal Profiler, my internal reaction was not the most enthusiastic as I had done many different psychological profiles in my past, they all put you into a neat little box, a typeset profile. You get my drift.

So the question of validation came up and the Profiler had been tested over 8k times, and the results proved themselves. Then what makes this Profiler so uniquely different? Getting to the next step, would be doing the profiler myself, and seeing what the result was. What came out was an excellent description of how I did stuff. How I operated.

Not to bore anyone with my personal profile data, I can however tell you that the result was a pleasant surprise. With all the past "tests" I had participated in, knew exactly where I slotted in psychologically and what my personalty type is. But......

Back to my Profile, very simply put, we all operate within three frames of reference, namely ;"See, Hear and Feel" . A range of questions spontaneously answered will put us squarely into a category with added permutations brought in from the other two reference points. After receiving feedback, or your report, you will know how you operate. And this  knowledge will help you in every facet of your busy life.

Knowing yourself, how you function as a human being is a huge advantage. By knowing yourself you automatically start looking for tell-tale signs in people you interact with. This leeds to better communication. Better environment in the workplace. Better communication at home.

Ben van Wetten: on truth and deceit Part 2

Ben van Wetten on truth and deception part 2.

In the previous article, we met and
looked at Brian's scenario, how he went from "nice to threatened". As fear grew in his head, every thought focused, not on work but on the cause of his misery, His fear became the focal point. His misery even started before he left home to go to work, in anticipation of a day filled with verbal abuse.

Talking to management helped get  Brian's safety net up, but it did not solve his problem. He may feel a little less stressed, but "Peter, the Bully" was still a problem.

Involving senior managers in discussions about solutions, started to shift the stress factor from a negative state to a positive state. Feeling needed and wanted, Brian's outlook went back into the "good zone" .

There are many employees in the country with similar problems, bullied in the work place, people who are easy victims because of their age, gender or race. Afraid because they are the bread winner and can't lose their 1job. Afraid because managers, or owners of businesses, can get rid of an employees by making life impossible.

Employees don't resign from companies, they resign from bad managers.

With Peter off his back for now, Brian can again focus on his work, re-focus on learning new stuff and most importantly, re-focus on creating a positive future for himself.

Shouldn't all managers encourage honest and positive engagement to foster a good sustainable business?

OAK ACADEMY : Ben van Wetten on Truth and Deceite Part 1

Ben van Wetten on searching.

After spending the day searching for a special single thought that could be expanded upon, something James Allan  wrote came into focus. Because it has been written about and discussed by so many authors and thinkers over millennia, one wonders at the question of it.
"As a man thinketh, so he is".

Many "trainers" discuss and write about this singularity. They explain carefully how your thought processing, should be positive, and not negative. Manifesting on what you want can only be done with Lazer clarity and positivity. Similarly, going into a negative downward spiral can be done with the same Lazer clarity into obliviaïn, sinking dreams along the way. So what can be brought to the table to give this its rightful place of understanding?

Brian Burroughs (not his real name) is a nice guy, works hard, loves his job and really gives his all to the company. Because of his age factor, which is past the normal for going on pension, he tends to be sensitive about his job security. Fears lurk in his mind and they surface when any possibilities arise for possible retrenchment or staff being laid off, should the company need to downsize its work force.

Brian's manager has a nasty  streak in him and is fully aware of this "fear factor". Peter, the manager,  got promoted on the basis of having been around the longest and not so much for his management skills. He applies micro management and lashes out at anyone he sees as a possible threat. Peter has also learned to cover his ass when things go wrong and tends to shift the blame to other team members and Brian is the perfect target.

Over a period of months Brian  experiences verbal attacks that eventually turns into verbal abuse. Even though Brian's work standard is in the category of excellent, he starts to doubt himself. The attacks becomes Brian's "Lazer point of reference" it becomes all he can think about  and he becomes the victim. It spills over into his family and realises he is in trouble. He can't see the wood for the trees. All he can think of, is that sword hanging over his head. The family becomes stressed and in Brian's work places he starts to fear for his job.

Very briefly, a situation that spirals out of control, because the negative influence is being fed (focused thinking) by the recipient of this negativity.

Desperate Brian turns to a confidant and lays his misery cards on the table. Go to your HR manager and put in a grievance is the advice given. He discusses the problem with his family and eventually agrees to go the grievance route.
While the problem is now addressed and Peter is under close watch by management, Brian still has to change his thingking process. While experiencing a lot less stress and in a much better frame of mind, he has not returned to the positive lazer yet.

Being positive from a position of safety is easy. It is when the safety factor is missing that we need to be lazer focused on our outcomes.

OAK ACADEMY: 24Words are 10 a penny

Ben van Wetten

WORDS...... ARE 10 A PENNY
Today will be a good day to look at words thrown about without so much as a thought, for their effects. Whether spoken or written. The written word can be  life-changing, if you can get over yourself !!!! So too the spoken word.
Deciding to make a change within,
to change the language patterns, think about what is said, and think on the words - are they a Positive or Negative or is it just an annoying noise - like the car radio with just enough sound to be heard but you can't make out what is being said.
We talk so easily and about so much ..... drivel . When do we realise what power or influence lie in the words we use? Some never do.
In the beginning God said, "Let there be Light." And there was Light. The whole of creation was created by the power of the words God used.
What do you say about your words?
About our country: The country is a mess. The people are corrupt. The country is bankrupt. One the most dangerous countries in Africa.
About people: You are a pig? You're loser. You are stupid, incompetent. You make me sick! You are a vexation to me.
And about yourself: I can't. I am tired. I am sick. I'm sitting. I just want to rest. I'm depressed. I have lost my faith in God! I'm fat! I'm ugly!  I'm scared.... I'm powerless! I'm hopeless! I am helpless! A victim.
Be careful about what you say. If most words that come out of your mouth are negative and self pitying, they will have a negative effect. On you and all those around you.
It is time for change. Time to get rid of all those negative words. Change is never easy and in order to get rid of negative language patterns we also need to change our negative attitudes - put the brain into gear before opening the mouth. To speak words that build instead of breaking down . Over the country, over the people who irritate you, over yourself - if you are feeling worthless.
Speak positivity and life back into yourself and into others with life giving words. Words are not just letters. They are loaded with huge amounts of power. Power to build up and power to break down.
So let's start this week by really thinking about the words we use. Let's  think about what we create around us with our words. Even the unspoken words in our Mind Mutter sessions.
Do you easily gossip? Fond of spreading bad news? To create bad vibes between people? Regularly complain - just as a habit? Do you curse or bless yourself?
It is time for change. Time to get rid of all those negative words. Change is never easy and in order to get rid of  negative language patterns, we also need to change our negative attitudes.
Start this week by really thinking about the words we use. Let's do this by considering our words in silence . How do you feel about what is happening, that makes you want to lash out. Taste the words and thoughts. FEEL the effect of the words you want to say - are you going to speak words that are building up instead of breaking down. Look to your inner thoughts. Your mind is the engine that drives your words. The thinking, that which deals with your mind, with your heart, determines your entire future. And that of others around you.
Speak with a firm grip on all the negatives today. All the tricks. All the lies. The rage. The gossip. The acidic words.
Let them die......

THE OAK ACADEMY : Decisions, decisions, dicisions

Ben van Wetten

Courage: A simple word that can trip you up when it is not in you.

We make dicisions everyday, all day. Most of them we don't even think about, because in the main, they are our autopilot responses to what we do, countless number of times per day. But there are times when we are forced to make split second, heart stopping decisions, when mistakes can be very costly and even end in death. But we make that decision, with a good or bad result.

The higher the stakes, the higher the risk factor. The higher the risk factor, the higher the chances are for procrastination to stick its ugly head out.

On a personal level, too many of us don't like making life changing decisions and just go with the flow, letting 'life' make the decisions for them. Then they can shrug and blame 'life' for any lack in their lives.

On a business level, a wrong dicision can be very costly to the company. Something employees try to avoid like the plague and that creates its own lack. You get where I am going with this? Decision making requires courage, sometimes a little, other times a lot.

Having a lot of lack in your life, can often be ascribed too a lack of courage. Simon (not his real name) works in a small family business and has done so for 15 years. He knows every aspect of the business and at times has to keep the business running when the family goes on holiday. He complains all the time to anyone who will listen about his home life and his work situation.
He blames 'life' for not standing up for him.

When we lack the courage to stand up for ourselves, lack the courage to make dicisions, we in effect drop out of the life-race and give up.

The OAK ACADEMY: So what is it going to be.?

Ben van Wetten.

When do we decide that we have had enough "life knocks" and want to live and be alive? Are you tired of working for a company where there is no hope for advancement? Tired of struggling to pay bills? Tired of the lack? Tired of being trapped in misery?

Yes there are those who inherited dad's business or corporation and have money. I never did, and you probably didn't either. So whatever curve balls come your way, take courage, and lots of it if you want to become the hero in your story.

In order to get out of your lack, your lack of money, your lack of future prospects where you are currently. You will need to make a change. A change that will require a lot of courage on your part.

At recent sporting event, in the 1200 m item, there was a little blonde girl, not really an athlete, but she wanted to do this for her team. As the race progressed she just fell more and more behind and as they rang the bell for her last lap, one of the officials went to stop her. For two seconds I also thought she would stop, as a few others had. But she shook her head, put the most determind look on her face and ran on to finish her race, for herself.

So, what's it going to be, are you going to stay in your comfort zone, or do you have enough courge to run your last lap, for yourself ?

THE OAK ACADEMY : Go, reinvent your life and live.

Ben van Wetten.

When did you decide to give up, what made you decide this was going to be as good as it is going to get?

Ponder the absence of the missing "why", because the 'why' becomes a reason and not the decision factor. The dicision factor is the time when you have figured for yourself that this is as good as it is going to get and you accept it as such. The reasons you put up front are the excuses you sell yourself into accepting the situation.

There are countless examples of people losing limbs, becoming physically disabled to various degrees of disability and a lot will accept this and spend the rest of their lives cared for and in a wheel chair or closeted to a bed. People working in businesses get laid off, retrenched as it were and are quite happy to then use that as an excuse to give up. You get the point.

A good number will sit back, accept and decide to make the physical rehabilitation their first goal towards reinventing themselves. Whether physical or mental, there will be scars, but the decision to go forward, that is made.

When did you decide that life goes on, that there is a future for you, that you are entitled to live a life?

Go, rebuild, reshape, reinvent your life and live.

The OAK ACADEMY Home of the U49 Where are the heroes?

  • Ben van Wetten

Louis L'Amour had a fundamental theme for all his heroes: that no matter how often you got knocked down, what counted was that you got up. We see this type of courage with babies going from the crawl to standing up against the furniture and to their first wobbly steps. No matter how often they fall down, they just get back up and carry on until they get it right. Some may be more adventurous than others, but they all have this drive to succeed even if that success is only measured in baby steps.

During sporting events, the outright winners get the prizes, but often it is the person who struggles to finish, the one who is a lap behind with no chance for glory, who stays determined to finish the race for her /himself, is the real hero. The stars are known before the event starts and are expected to win. The heroes learn to fight, to stand up with courage, to finish the race even when the odds against them.

All too often the high school sports star fails because when entering the real world there are no accolades and the star fades into obscurity. What was easy then becomes a mountain too high and fading into obscurity, an excuse to fade into mediocrity.

This does not mean that the struggler will stop struggling for the rest of time and remain obscure in life, settling for what they perceive their life to be or are entitled to. Or that the star that was the hero then does not go on to greater heights of fame and fortune. At the end of the day, it all comes down to this one simple question, "when do we decide to give up or  make the decision to stand up and fight for who we want to be"?

LEARN TO WALK IN YOUR TRUTH. The Pen of; JOHN USHER

It's not in the comfort zone that you will discover your greatness. No! When standing amidst the lions in the den, you realise that the Power in you is far greater than the jaws of death.

It is easy to believe that you are strong, wise, or powerful while standing in the middle of your comfort zone, never  confronting a real enemy in a real battle.

Very few people venture beyond the walls of the safe house to discover the true beauty of this life. Those that do leave are divided into two groups: the mad dogs and the patrolling lions.

Mad dogs are annoyingly easy to identify by the incedeous noise they make. They constantly bark about their feats of strength and victory, and howl about their greatness as a way to scare off potential threats lurking in the darkness.

Sadly, the mad dog is driven by his or her fears, and fail to discover who they really are as they hide behind the noise of empty boasting. Mad dogs easily fall victim to the crocodiles seductive smile and promises of safety and protection, only to end up as lunch.

The patrolling lions quietly walk every inch of their territory, as they survey, observe, take in and discover the fullness of their potential.

These confident lions know the true test of their ability lies along the borders. There they confront intruders and scuffle with challengers. When injured, they quietly lick their wounds until they are strong enough to patrol again.

It's in patrolling the borders of your own capacity that you develop the reputation of being courageous and powerful. One day you will realise your reputation has gone before you, as your enemies keep silent and just walk away.

It's in that day you will know your hard work and resilience used to overcome difficulties has made place for you amongst the lion pride.

Be courageous my friend, take time to heal, face your battles with confidence, for these are the true makers of your "I am."

Truth and Deception

From the pen of John Usher

Truth and Deception may be opposites on the scale of "desirable," but they are deeply joined by a great equalizer called 'self.'

Self Deception is the two-faced enemy of our success. The first face is the deception that we are not 'good enough.' We conjure up lies about our worth that works magic to keep us dumb, pathetic, and purposeless.

Once we break free from the depressing shackles of self doubt, by realising the Sea of Potential we possess is enough to overcome any limitation - we suddenly meet the second face of Deception.

This cunning enemy comes as our 'friend', stroking our ego and allowing us to wallow in self glorification, believing we are greater than we actually are.

In this delusion of Grandeur, we adopt self -awarded titles reserved for recognition, like 'leader' or 'influencer', which inflate our arrogance and sharpens the axe of pride that will eventually cut us down to size.

In the painful aftermath of our fall, we wonder if success is possible. Yes, it is. In our humiliated state, we ponder if we are meant for greatness. Yes, you are.

However, the power of Self Truth needs something other than wallowing in self pity to operate in your life, and something more meaningful than pseudo-titles of success to fabricate your destiny.
Walking in our own truth requires godly characteristics to forge and guide our greatness through our efforts, our mission, our focus, the ensuing momentum, and the inevitable mastery.

These elements may seem foreign and impossible to achieve in your mind, but in reality they require two very simple things; the willingness to learn, and the openness to move.

Your greatness awaits with open arms. Make this the year of learning and movement.
